A male was arrested on suspicion of starting off a fire at an deserted company around Indian School Road and 12th Avenue on Tuesday.
Court paperwork state witnesses saw a hearth had just started out in the small business and saw the suspect, recognized as Leon Malcolm Lonjose, 31, going for walks absent from the hearth. When they asked him why he started out the hearth, Lonjose didn’t respond to and left.
A Phoenix law enforcement officer observed Lonjose throwing objects at the business enterprise a few minutes before the hearth commenced, according to court files. The officer then observed smoke coming from the company.
When firefighters arrived a witness told them Lonjose started out the hearth. It is unclear if it was the same witness who asked Lonjose why he commenced the hearth.
The officer, who in accordance to courtroom documents was common with Lonjose, found him close by that exact same day with a lighter in his pocket and detained him. Witnesses discovered Lonjose as the suspect and advised police no one else was around the creating when it was burning.
Lonjose was charged on suspicion of arson of construction or house and was being held on a $5,000 bond. He was also arrested on Feb. 26 on suspicion of reckless burning in the exact same spot, in accordance to courtroom files.
